Subject: Attend my Public Service Town Hall and Resource Fair!

Dear [firstname],

Exciting news – my 84th town hall is just two weeks away! This town hall will focus on something near and dear to my heart: public service. We will talk about the transformative impact of public service, which personally shaped my roles as an elected official, a former U.S. Air Force officer, and a Teach for America science teacher at Simon Gratz High School in Philadelphia. For those who don't know, Teach for America is part of AmeriCorps, and our town hall aligns with the culmination of AmeriCorps Week and celebrates their 30th anniversary!

The town hall is happening at St. Paul's Baptist Church in West Chester on March 16 and will be followed by a resource fair featuring service organizations in our community. I will also be joined by Michael Smith, CEO of AmeriCorps, who will help answer questions on service opportunities, and our conversation will be moderated by the Rev. Dr. Wayne E. Croft Sr., Pastor of St. Paul's Baptist Church. We will also have three panelists: Michael D. Smith, President of AmeriCorps, Captain Howard Crawford (ret. – USAF), Commander of American Legion Post 134 in West Chester, and Kelly Young, an AmeriCorps alum who works with LegalAid in West Chester. Click here to RSVP.

*Thank you for RSVPing – we will send helpful reminders about seating, parking, and more to your email ahead of the event.

I’ve prioritized supporting our public service organizations like AmeriCorps, which annually provides over five million individuals with service opportunities through stipends and volunteer work. Just last month, I wrote a letter to House leadership asking them to preserve funding for AmeriCorps that is at risk of being cut in this year’s budget. I’d be happy to answer questions about that work and other public service initiatives at the town hall!

UPDATED: Chrissy’s Community Bulletin

I wanted to share some important upcoming events and deadlines for community members.

Record for the Veterans History Project

The U.S. Library of Congress collects firsthand accounts of U.S. military veterans who served from World War I through recent conflicts. Our office has heard from many veterans in our community, but we would love to share your story! If interested in participating, visit Kennett Library at 320 E State St, Kennett Square, PA 19348, on Friday, March 22, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. to record with my team. You can RSVP here.

Resources for tax season

On Thursday, March 28 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., my team will be at the Chester County Library at 450 Exton Square Pkwy, Exton, PA 19341 with the IRS' Taxpayer Advocate Service (TAS) to help with tax questions and resources. Please note, my team will not be able to help prepare community members' taxes.

Serving as our community's representative is the honor of my lifetime, and I hope to hear from you soon about any issue that concerns you.

As always, please contact my office if you need assistance.

Be well, and see you soon!
