Provide federal support to states for universal Pre-K 

Increase federal support for STEM education to give students a world-class education that prepares them for the jobs of the future  

Increase mental health support, including more well-trained mental health professionals on site, for students and teachers  

Focus the U.S. Department of Education’s resources on reducing bullying in schools 

Solve the teacher shortage by expanding recruitment programs and increasing teacher pay and benefits  

Expand and strengthen the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program so that graduates earn loan forgiveness by serving their communities   

Expand and strengthen Pell Grants 

Create new incentives for businesses to offer student loan forgiveness as a benefit to their employees  

Expand AmeriCorps benefits so participants enough money to afford in-state tuition at a public university after a full term of service   

Partner with labor unions and industry to create one million new youth and adult apprenticeship opportunities over the next five years 

Expand the Jobs Corps program, the largest nationwide residential career training program in the country 

Strengthen and expand the Workforce Pell Grant Program to provide financial aid for certificate or license training programs 

Reverse declining student reading scores by investing in literacy programs with proven results   

Improve student financial literacy by strengthening the Financial Literacy Education Commission’s work with schools so students develop good habits early 

Expand civics education funding to prepare students to be engaged citizens
