Dear [firstname],
A few weeks ago, I shared information about the work I'm doing as your representative in Congress to make sure our upcoming elections are free, fair, and secure. Now, I want to answer some of the questions we receive in emails and calls to our offices about voting this fall.
|
How do I know if I’m registered to vote? You can check your voter registration status with the PA State Department online.
Can I still register to vote? Yes! Monday, October 19 is the last day to register to vote in the upcoming election. You can register online or in person at the Chester County Government Services Center or one of the temporary satellite offices (click here for locations and hours of operation).
I’m a registered Independent, can I vote in this election? Yes. If you are a U.S. citizen who is at least 18 years old, you are eligible to vote.
I’m registered to vote, but my name or address changed since the last time I voted. Do I need to update my registration? Yes. Monday, October 19 is the last day to update your registration to vote in the upcoming election. You can do that online or in person at the Chester County Government Services Center or one of the temporary satellite offices (click here for locations and hours of operation).

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3. Can I vote before then? You can vote early with a mail/absentee ballot, which you can mail in or drop off in person before November 3.
How do I request a mail ballot? You’ll need to request a mail/absentee ballot by 5:00 pm on Tuesday, October 27. You can do that online or, as long as you are a resident of Chester County, in person at the Chester County Government Services Center or one of the temporary satellite offices (click here for locations and hours of operation).
Once you have your ballot, you can put it in one of 13 secure drop boxes in the county which are available every day until the end of the election (click here for hours and locations). The first day to drop your ballot in a drop box is Monday, October 12. Ballot drop boxes in Chester County are only for Chester County residents.
Can I have a friend drop my ballot at a ballot drop box? No. You can turn in only your own ballot. If you are disabled, click here for instructions on how to enable someone else to deliver your ballot.
Can I send my ballot in the mail? You can, but your ballot must be received by Chester County Voter Services no later than 8:00 pm on November 3 to be counted. Given the possibility of lost or delayed mail, we recommend that you deliver your ballot directly to one of 13 secure drop boxes in the county, which are available every day until the end of the election (click here for hours and locations).

If I want to vote in person on November 3, where do I do that? Click here to find your polling place. Polls will be open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. As long as you are in line by 8:00 pm, you will be able to vote.
Six polling locations in Chester County have changed for this election, while the overwhelming majority are the same as last time. Be sure to double check!
Do I need to show my ID to vote? If it’s your first time voting at a new polling place, yes. If you’ve voted at that location before, no. But it’s always a good idea to bring your ID with you regardless.
If your polling location is one of the six moving to a new spot this year, but you voted at the previous location and have not needed to update your voter registration since then, you do not need to show ID.
Click here for approved forms of ID.
I received a mail/absentee ballot but changed my mind. Can I vote in person instead? Yes, just return your ballot to be voided. Click here for more information.
What if I requested but still haven’t received my mail/absentee ballot? You can cancel the request and apply for a new one online or in person at the Chester County Government Services Center or one of the temporary satellite offices (click here for locations and hours of operation).
I have a question not addressed here. What should I do? You can visit Chester County Voter Services online, in person (601 Westtown Road), or call them at 610-344-6410.

Be sure to share this resource with family and friends who may have questions about the upcoming election. Your vote is your voice, and I want every eligible voter in Chester and Berks Counties to have the information you need to use it.
