Whether your family are first-generation Americans or came here hundreds of years ago, we all have a story to tell. Immigration laws and issues have shifted over the years and the challenges of immigration continue to be top of mind for many of us.

In February, I visited our southern border for the second time. Like many of you, I’m very concerned about our past and present immigration policies. I remain committed to improving the situation there, including real reform with more legal pathways for those seeking refuge. Earlier this year I sent out an update on immigration newsletter and recently shared my thoughts on the Department of Homeland Security funding bill that will help to secure our southern border.  

That’s why I’m hosting my 85th town hall on this topic. Please join me on Monday, April 15, at 5:30 p.m. for my Immigration Telephone Town Hall. In the coming weeks, I will announce some guests who will join me to provide additional insight on this topic. Immigration is a complex issue, and we will discuss many things, including visa processing, legal pathways to citizenship, safety for those seeking asylum, its impact on our economy, and more.
