WASHINGTON – Today, Representative Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) was sworn in to the 117th Congress of the United States. She released the following statement:

“The opportunity to serve my community in Congress continues to be the honor and privilege of a lifetime,” said Houlahan. “Together, we are facing historic challenges as we battle a deadly pandemic while also heading into the new year intent on building a thriving and more inclusive economy. I am committed to meeting all of our challenges and to working with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle. We must crush this virus; rebuild our Pennsylvanian economy; continue to shape policy that allows for access to more equitable health care, jobs and education; and ensure a safer and healthier planet. I thank the people of Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District for the faith they once again are placing in me. We are in this together. There’s work to be done.”

Houlahan is an Air Force veteran, an engineer, a serial entrepreneur, an educator, and a nonprofit leader. She’s in her first term representing Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District, which encompasses Chester County and southern Berks County. She serves on the House Armed Services Committee, the House Foreign Affairs Committee, and the House Small Business Committee.
