Houlahan to House Leadership: No Excuses – We Must Deliver on Infrastructure
Washington,

WASHINGTON – Today, Representative Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) issued the following statement: “Amid a noisy debate in Washington about where Congress stands on infrastructure, I want to make my position unequivocally clear,” said Houlahan. “I am in full, enthusiastic support of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Failure to deliver this bill during a critical time for our nation is simply not an option.” “For weeks, I have been working behind the scenes with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to remind members that we all share the same goal – transform our aging infrastructure to compete in the global economy and give our small businesses a fighting chance.” “In my short time in Washington, I’ve learned that we agree on much more than we disagree on. When it comes to infrastructure, this principle holds true. As such, I continue to urge President Biden and Democratic leaders to rally skeptical Democrats. Additionally, I call on Republicans, especially my colleagues in the Problem Solvers Caucus, to follow through on their commitment to get this bill across the finish line.” Houlahan is an Air Force veteran, an engineer, a serial entrepreneur, an educator and a nonprofit leader. She represents Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District, which encompasses Chester County and southern Berks County. She serves on the House Armed Services Committee, the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the House Small Business Committee. She is the recipient of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Abraham Lincoln Leadership for America Award which “recognizes members who demonstrate the bipartisan leadership and constructive governing necessary to move our country forward.”
