Representative Houlahan Cosponsors Historic Anti-Corruption and Reform Bill

WASHINGTON – Representative Houlahan announced her first bill cosponsorship, H.R. 1, The For The People Act. This historic anti-corruption and reform package will put power back in the hands of the American people by ending the dominance of big money in politics; making it easier, not harder, to vote; and ensuring that politicians serve the public interest rather than special interests.

“We must fix our broken government and rebuild our trust in the democratic process,” said Houlahan. “Throughout my campaign I committed to making meaningful campaign finance reform a top priority, and I am proud that the first bill I am co-sponsoring is H.R. 1, The For The People Act. This reform package will help curb the growing influence of money in our campaigns, make ballot access easier for eligible voters, and enact tougher standards to fight corruption.”

“Voters throughout Chester County and Berks County sent a resounding message last November to reform our campaign system and we are immediately taking action by introducing this bill to restore a government to and for the People.”

Representative Chrissy Houlahan is an Air Force veteran, an engineer, a serial entrepreneur, an educator, and a nonprofit leader. She’s in her first term representing Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District which encompasses Chester County and southern Berks County.
