Houlahan Announces Opening of New Location for Reading Office

Rep. Houlahan’s Reading office is set to open at a new location on May 10th.

READING, PA – Today, Representative Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) announced her Reading office is officially opening at its new location in the Gateway Building on 201 Penn Street, Suite 201 in Reading, PA on Wednesday, May 10th. The new location is larger, is centrally located for Reading area residents and will allow Houlahan and her team to better serve the community. Since 2019, Houlahan has maintained offices in both Reading and West Chester to serve residents of both Berks and Chester Counties.

“I’m thrilled to share that our new office in Reading is open for business. My teams in Reading and West Chester have done a great job helping our Reading office relocate from City Hall to Penn Street, and I’m so thankful for their hard work,” said Houlahan. “The City of Reading welcomed my team and me with open arms in 2019. Over the past four years, we have added staff to our Reading location to better serve the community. This new office space will allow us to expand our work serving the City of Reading and the surrounding area of Berks County. It is much larger than our previous location, and many of the federal agencies that our community members need assistance with are in the same building. Being accessible to our community members remains one of my top priorities and I’m excited to see all the history that will be made in our new office.”

As of Wednesday, May 10th the new office will be open Wednesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Reading staff can be reached at 610-295-0815 and by appointment Mondays and Tuesdays. The new office located at 201 Penn Street is twice the size of the prior office and is in close proximity to Reading Area Community College, federal agency offices such as Social Security and Internal Revenue Service, and a large parking garage. The building is also ADA accessible.

Houlahan is an Air Force veteran, an engineer, a serial entrepreneur, an educator, and a nonprofit leader. She represents Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District, which encompasses Chester County and southern Berks County. She serves on the House Armed Services Committee and the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. She is the recipient of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Abraham Lincoln Leadership for America Award which “recognizes members who demonstrate the bipartisan leadership and constructive governing necessary to move our country forward” and the Congressional Management Foundation’s 2022 Democracy Award for best Constituent Services in Congress.
