COATESVILLE, PA – Today, Representative Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) announced that her office will be hosting a Mental Health Awareness Fair and Forum. The event will be held on Saturday, May 20th at the Brandywine YMCA in Coatesville. The fair will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will feature over 20 community organizations that provide mental health services and resources. The event will also include a forum from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. moderated by the Executive Director of the Brandywine YMCA, Jessica Rigo. “According to NAMI Keystone PA, almost 2 million Pennsylvanians have a mental health condition. Sadly, too many people don’t receive care because of cost or the lack of available resources,” said Houlahan. “We are fortunate in our region to have organizations which can help, and I am grateful for their participation in this fair.” Houlahan has been a staunch advocate for mental health services since joining Congress in 2019 and continues to support legislation that addresses mental health needs in various fields. Last month, Houlahan introduced the Servicemembers Mental Health Improvement Act, which is a bipartisan bill that would establish a mental health task force within the Department of Defense, taking tangible steps to address the mental health epidemic facing our servicemembers.
