WEST CHESTER, PA – Today, Representative Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) launched a project inviting community members to submit videos on Ben Franklin's story and why his impact on society and the U.S.' democracy matters to them. This comes as Houlahan saw there are no statues dedicated to Ben Franklin in the U.S. Capitol Building and plans to introduce the Ben Franklin Statue Placement Act, which will bring a statue of him to the halls of Congress. Selected videos will be used on Houlahan's official social media accounts and shared with her colleagues in Washington

Submissions should:

    • Help share the story of Ben Franklin

    • Explain to Congress why his impact on society and our democracy matters to you

    • Tell other lawmakers why a statue would help share this important history

    • Have a maximum viewing time of 2 minutes

    • Be submitted in .MOV format

Send submissions to PA06.info@mail.house.gov by December 1 at 6 p.m. Please contact the Office of Rep. Houlahan with any questions.
