Houlahan Introduces Resolution to Censure Representative Boebert

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Representative Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA), introduced H.Res.202, a resolution to censure Representative Lauren Boebert (R-CO). “After my discussion on the House floor last week when Speaker Johnson told me he’d have to censure half the members if he actually enforced the rules of the Congress, I decided to help, and tonight introduced a resolution to censure Representative Boebert for her racist and derogatory statements about Representative Al Green (D-TX),” said Houlahan. Text of H.Res.202 below: Censuring Representative Lauren Boebert of Colorado for her recent disparaging and derogatory comments about Representative Al Green of Texas Whereas on March 7, 2025, during an interview with Real America’s Voice News, Representative Lauren Boebert of Colorado said “For him to go and shake his pimp cane” about another Member, Representative from Texas, Mr. Al Green; Whereas the words of the Representative from Colorado are disparaging, derogatory, and racist toward another colleague, and are a breach of proper conduct and decorum of the U.S. House of Representatives Resolved, That— (1) Representative Lauren Boebert be censured; (2) Representative Lauren Boebert forthwith present herself in the well of the House of Representatives for the pronouncement of censure; and (3) Representative Lauren Bobert be censured with the public reading of this resolution by the Speaker. ### Houlahan is an Air Force veteran, engineer, entrepreneur, educator, and nonprofit leader. She is serving her fourth consecutive term representing the people of Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District, which encompasses Chester County and southern Berks County. Houlahan is the first female veteran to be named as Ranking Member of the House Armed Services Committee’s Military Personnel Subcommittee and a member of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. Houlahan is also chair of the Economic Growth and Cost of Living Task Force on the New Democrat Coalition. |
