ROBESON TOWNSHIP, PA —

The Robeson Township supervisors got a visit Tuesday night from MaCherie Dunbar, the constituent services advocate for U.S. Rep. Chrissy Houlahan.

Dunbar was on hand to offer assistance from Houlahan's office to the township and its residents. Houlahan is a Chester County Democrat who represents Reading and southern Berks County.

According to Dunbar, Houlahan wants constituents to reach out to her offices in Reading, West Chester, and Washington for any assistance. Services include help with federal agencies, educational opportunities, federal grant applications and visits to Washington.

Township Supervisor Harold Steve told Dunbar that Robeson and Union townships had recently built a sewer conveying system costing Geigertown residents $125 per month, and needed relief for that and many road projects on the table. The Geigertown Joint Sewer Authority has been wrapping up work on the $6 million project to pump sewage six miles from Geigertown to Birdsboro. A $3 million state grant covered half the state-mandated project, but payments for the rest are being shouldered by about 115 Geigertown residents.

Steve said Robeson officials were told there is no grant money available to help with the situation. Dunbar suggested he contact Houlahan's West Chester office for information specific to that situation. She said Houlahan's office can help with the application process, provide letters of support and glean status reports for submissions.
