Houlahan: The President’s Budget Proposal Is a Win for Pennsylvanians

CHESTER COUNTY – Today, U.S. Rep. Chrissy Houlahan issued the following statement regarding President Biden’s budget proposal.

“The President’s Budget makes clear that this Administration is serious about addressing the grave challenges we face as we emerge from this pandemic,” said Houlahan. “These investments would have a dramatically positive impact on working families across Pennsylvania.

“Funding for high quality workforce training programs will strengthen our middle class and provide new opportunities for countless workers as well as increase diversity across our workforce.

“Child care is a jobs issue, and for too long, working parents have had to choose between raising a family and holding a job. Making quality child care accessible and affordable to every Pennsylvanian will improve our economy and our workforce. These deliberate investments in this crucial sector is a welcome sign of building an economy in which everyone can thrive.

“Our veterans put the lives on their line for this country, and it’s paramount that our policies reflect that sacrifice and support them. As Chair of the Servicewomen and Women Veterans Caucus, I’m proud to have advocated for funding that will support our veterans across PA, with  emphases on access to health care, job training programs in the civilian sector and addressing the suicide epidemic that continues to plague our vets.

“I look forward to working with the Administration and my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to invest strategically in our Commonwealth, uplift the vulnerable and support programs that will boost our economy.”
