Houlahan Invites Public to Education Telephone Town Hall on Tuesday, February 22

WEST CHESTER, PA – Today, Representative Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) announced the details of her upcoming Education Telephone Town Hall scheduled for next Tuesday, February 22 at 5:30 p.m. Houlahan organized the event to hear from parents and community members in Chester and Berks counties as well as share updates about how federal funds are being used at the local level to keep schools open for in-person instruction.

“As a former educator, I have seen firsthand how in-person learning can impact a child’s trajectory,” said Houlahan. “The past two years have been incredibly disruptive for all of us, but our students and teachers have faced unique challenges while navigating remote learning. A strong education system is a powerful guide for young people as they develop and learn, which is why we must address the issues putting ours under strain.”

“In Congress, I voted to send federal funds to Chester and Berks counties so we could provide schools with the resources to keep our kids in classrooms and provide our educators with the tools to teach all of our students. This town hall is an opportunity to answer questions from our community about how these vital funds are being put to use and what other services our students need, including mental health support.”

Houlahan, who represents all of Chester County and the southern part of Berks County, including the city of Reading, will also share updates on her constituent services, the ongoing economic recovery from the pandemic, and more. There will be a live question and answer period.
