"As inflation continues and we look for ways to increase domestic manufacturing, I am honored to be appointed by House Leadership to serve alongside my colleagues on both sides of the aisle on the Conference Committee for the America COMPETES Act," said Houlahan. "I have been involved in this legislation from the beginning, working to secure our supply chains, promote opportunities in the science and technology fields, and increase support for American innovation and manufacturing so we are less dependent on China and Russia. The conference process will involve combining the COMPETES Act with the Senate's United States Innovation and Competition Act and work out any disagreements between the two. While there is still work to be done to ensure this legislation addresses the needs of our community, Commonwealth, and country, I look forward to bringing the priorities of Pennsylvanians to the table as we work to get this legislation to the President's desk as soon as possible." Houlahan is an Air Force veteran, an engineer, a serial entrepreneur, an educator and a nonprofit leader. She represents Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District, which encompasses Chester County and southern Berks County. She serves on the House Armed Services Committee, the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the House Small Business Committee. She is the recipient of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s Abraham Lincoln Leadership for America Award which “recognizes members who demonstrate the bipartisan leadership and constructive governing necessary to move our country forward.”
