WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Today, Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) issued the following statement: Today, I was happy to see the House come together and resoundingly pass the Supreme Court Police Parity Act. While I had hoped this bill would include measures extending protections to the families of clerks and staff, whose dedicated work as public servants ensures the Court is able to serve the American people, this effort was too important not to pass at this critical moment. The three branches of government serve as pillars of our democracy, and we must ensure that members of each branch are able to do their jobs without fear for their lives or the lives of their loved ones. Regardless of one’s ideology, we can all agree that threats against any Supreme Court justice must be taken seriously.
