Houlahan to Answer Pennsylvanians’ Questions About Federal, State, and Local Services

Houlahan’s 66th town hall comes after winning best in Congress for constituent services

  • -

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Representative Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) announced the details of her 66th town hall scheduled for next Tuesday, September 27 at 5:30 p.m.— the virtual event will focus on the many ways that government offices help people – commonly called “constituent services.” Houlahan organized the event as an opportunity for residents of Chester and Berks Counties to hear more about the ways in which federal, state, and local offices can help them with government-related issues. Houlahan will be joined by PA State Rep. Christina Sappey and Chester County Administrator Bobby Kagel.

"Constituent services are one of my office’s highest priorities,” said Houlahan. “In fact, our commitment to constituent services was recently acknowledged by the non-partisan Congressional Management Foundation (CMF) as the best in Congress! I’m extremely proud of this distinction and want to continue sharing with our community ways their elected officials stand ready to help them.”

The Congressional Management Foundation is a non-partisan organization dedicated to improving the effectiveness, accountability, and transparency of Congress and enhancing the public’s understanding of how Congress works. Houlahan made history this month by being the first Member in CMF’s 45-year history to receive two awards in one term.

Houlahan continued: “Too many Pennsylvanians aren’t sure who to turn to when they need help. From filling a pothole in their neighborhood to receiving a delayed tax return, I want to answer constituents’ questions about government services. In my office, a federal office, we help individuals and families with a range of issues: passport appointments, VA disability claims, Social Security, IRS tax refunds, and more. But our state and local offices handle different needs, which is why I’m so thankful to PA State Rep Christina Sappey and Chester County Administrator Bobby Kagel for their participation at this event. Even if you don’t have a specific question, I want to invite all community members to attend—I am confident every participant will leave the event feeling more confident in seeking help from their elected officials should they need assistance.”
