WEST CHESTER, PA – Yesterday, Representative Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) celebrated Pennsylvania’s 6th Congressional District’s 2023 appointees and nominees for the United States Service Academies. Houlahan’s academy board, which is comprised of local community leaders, nominated 24 students for U.S. Service Academies this fall. Thirteen were appointed by those academies. Four of the five U.S. Service Academies require students to receive a nomination from their U.S. Senator, Congressperson, or the Vice President, in order to attend. These students will attend the U.S. Military Academy, the U.S. Naval Academy, the U.S. Air Force Academy, or the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and then serve a minimum of five years in their respective branch after graduation.
