Improve Health Care and Family Support for Veterans 

• Guarantee that every veteran has access to high-quality VA health care, including care for female veterans. 

• Invest in VA facilities and staff, rather than privatizing or outsourcing care, to meet the needs of a growing veteran population. 

• Expand access to mental health services by hiring more doctors and counselors at VA facilities. 

• Provide life-saving medications to veterans living in State Veterans Homes, the same way they would receive these medications if they were in a community nursing home. 

• Provide better training to VA workers who handle military sexual trauma (MST) claims, so survivors are treated with respect and care. 

• Increase oversight and safeguards for how the VA manages veterans’ personal data, including medical records. 

Protect Veterans’ Jobs and Economic Security 

• Provide career counseling, skills translation, and apprenticeships to servicemen and women as they transitioning from active duty to veteran status. 

• Expand training, placement, and hiring pathways across all industries so veterans have meaningful careers applying the skills they learned in the military. 

• Reinstate veterans who were wrongfully removed from federal jobs. 

• Strengthen financial protections for veterans to make them less vulnerable to scams. 

• Invest in and promote VA home loans and other well-earned benefits. 

Honor and Recognize Veterans’ Service 

• Create a WWII Women’s Memorial on the National Mall to honor women’s contributions to the war effort. 

• Interview local veterans to learn about their military experience; submit recordings to the Library of Congress’s Veterans History Project. 

• Update veterans' records, including compensating for wrongful discharges related to pregnancy or other discrimination based on race, gender, religion, or sexual orientation.
